Gambler ‘steals’ from friend to pay off debt in Dubai – 7DAYS.ae

A cleaner is accused of stealing his friends wallet in order to pay off gambling debt.

Dubai Court of First Instance was told the 24-year-old Pakistani was a regular gambler and had lost money.

On January 8 he stole the wallet and withdrew Dhs2,000 from his friends bank account.

A 36-year-old Emirati policeman said in records that the accused told him he is suffering from a gambling issue.

He claimed that he played cards with others and lost the money, he said.

He stole the wallet and the money and then paid his debts to an Egyptian man in the Al Awir area.
