Gambling researchers say more needs to be done to determine the level of harm caused by poker machines, after figures showed punters lost $5.7 billion on New South Wales poker machines last financial year.
Figures from the Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority show poker machines in New South Wales pubs and clubs turned over more than $74 billion from 2015-2016.
