Corporate bankruptcies in Germany continued to rise, with 2,373
businesses filing for insolvency in July 2026, an 8% increase
compared with the same month last year.
According to Germany’s Federal Statistical Office (Destatis),
the July figure was among the highest monthly totals recorded since
July 2013, when 2,459 businesses filed for insolvency.
Between January and July 2026, the number of corporate
insolvencies increased by 6.9% year-on-year to 15,185.
