German local courts recorded 2,266 corporate insolvency applications in June 2026, according to the Federal Statistical Office, known as Destatis. The figures reflect filings that enter the statistics only after the insolvency court issues its first decision, meaning the actual filing date often falls roughly three months earlier.
June 2026 corporate insolvency applications were 15.8 percent higher than in the same month a year earlier. For the first half of 2026, courts registered 12,812 corporate insolvency applications, an increase of 6.7 percent compared with the same period in 2025.
