An evidence blunder has scuppered a disciplinary hearing into a GMP inspector who has accused by his bosses of deceiving colleagues to pay off his gambling debts.
Jon Percival, A Tactical Aid Unit officer, is alleged to have concealed the true extent of his financial crisis – being more than £100,000 in debt – when he repeatedly asked for colleagues and friends for loans totalling £47,000 which he was unable to repay.
But a planned four-day hearing due finish on Thursday was stopped on Tuesday due to a paperwork blunder.
However, the officer will now have to face a second hearing in front of a different panel at a future date.
