Awful news for Halifax Panthers.
Halifax Panthers have been placed into ‘compulsory liquidation’ after being wound up by the High Court this Monday afternoon.
The Championship club have had a ‘long-running dispute’ with HMRC and have been unable to reach a solution.
They have now been placed into liquidation, with the future of the club now in serious doubt and control of the West Yorkshire outfit passed to the official receiver.
However, the Panthers have stated that liquidation does not mean the absolute end of the club, but the club’s parent company, Halifax Rugby League Football Club Limited, will be wound up with immediate effect.
