High-profile bookmaker Tom Waterhouse has told a Sydney court that a former client accused of defrauding a company of $9 million was a “big punter” who told him he had “made a lot of money from Macquarie Bank”.
A smiling Mr Waterhouse appeared at the King Street Supreme Court on Monday to give evidence in the trial of Andrew Sigalla, a former director of listed technology company TZ Limited.
Mr Sigalla has pleaded not guilty to 24 charges of defrauding the Sydney-based company.
“He was known by all the bookmakers,” Mr Waterhouse said.
