Hyderabad: Industries of the Sanghi Group at Sanghinagar, Hayatnagar, were on the verge of power supply disconnection on Friday. The Telangana High Court was not inclined to intervene in the demand notices issued to the group to pay over Rs 4.21 crore in long-pending grid support charges (GSC) and interest, termed as surcharge, for the period from FY 2002-03 to 2008-09.
A division bench of the High Court comprising Justice Moushumi Bhattacharya and Justice Gadi Praveen Kumar rejected the contention of Sanghi Polymers Private Ltd, that it should not be held responsible for the dues of a sister concern, Sanghi Polyesters Ltd, which was undergoing liquidation. It argued that it had no connection with Sanghi Polyesters.
