VG Mathers Limited, founded nearly 60 years ago in Scotland, ceased trading after a prolonged period of “difficult conditions” in the road haulage sector.
The closure has resulted in the loss of seven jobs.
Colin Mathers, director of VG Mathers Limited and son of the founder, told our Scottish sister paper The National: “For years, our team has poured everything into keeping our wheels turning, but we have ultimately been overwhelmed by a relentless series of challenges.
“In this industry, we are used to navigating tough times, but recently it has felt like one thing after another.
