Seven of Hobart’s best-known hospitality venues have closed their doors after the group operating them collapsed into voluntary administration. Iconic Tasmanian pubs and bars, including Republic Bar and Cargo Bar, are among those to immediately close while an urgent sale process is underway.
Pub Banc Group and Hotel Banc Group have brought in administrators from Apex Advisory, who are now assessing the group’s operations. More than 80 employees will be impacted.
The other venues that have closed are Jack Greene, Post Street Social, Observatory Bar, Franklin Wharf Restaurant & Bar, and Franklin Wharf Function Centre, which are all located at Salamanca, the waterfront and North Hobart.
