KTM AG have confirmed plans to cut around 500 jobs as part of a wide-ranging cost-reduction programme, marking the latest step in the firm’s post-insolvency strategy.
The layoffs, which are expected to fall largely on salaried staff and middle management roles, come as KTM’s parent company is officially renamed from Pierer Mobility AG to Bajaj Mobility AG. The move removes the name of former majority owner Stefan Pierer from the business, marking the Austrian manufacturer’s new chapter under Indian giant Bajaj Auto.
