Efforts to prevent the liquidation of Tongaat Hulett and secure the future of ArcelorMittal South Africa are continuing, with more than 40 000 sugar industry jobs and thousands of steel sector jobs at stake.
KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport and Human Settlements Siboniso Duma – speaking in his capacity as Leader of Government Business – issued the update following engagements held over the past two days in the King Cetshwayo District with Trade, Industry and Competition Minister Parks Tau and Zulu Royal Chancellor Inkosi Malusi Zondi.
