A notice on official public record website The Gazette (in which certain statutory notices are required to be published) confirms that the venue at Rosthwaite in Borrowdale would be wound-up, with the appointment of Armstrong Watson LLP as liquidators.
Daryl Warwick and Ed Connell will handle the case and subsequent affairs.
The property – which is described as a “wonderful country house hotel in the very heart of Borrowdale” – was purchased in 1971 and placed on the market for the first time in over 50 years in 2023, with the price reduced from £2.75m to £1.5m a year later.
It has stood empty since ceasing trading.
