The restaurant, bar and terrace remain open to the general public.
The new plans are designed to complement the existing hospitality offering but with a more community-led events and functions strategy, allowing customers more opportunities to use and enjoy the building.
Owner Kevin Cumings said the move forms part of a long-term strategy to create a stronger and more sustainable business while opening up the landmark building to more community activity, such as The Sunday Jazz Roast and monthly club nights.
The development follows the liquidation of KP Cumings and Sons Ltd, the company previously associated with the venue.
