CCH Transport Limited, based in Larkhall, was ordered to close after a petition from His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) was granted at Hamilton Sheriff Court.
The road freight firm ceased trading before the formal appointment of liquidators, with Shona Campbell of Henderson Loggie now overseeing the process, according to The Herald.
HMRC does not comment on individual cases for reasons of taxpayer confidentiality law.
However, a spokesperson for HMRC said: “We take a supportive approach to dealing with customers who have tax debts and only file winding-up petitions once we’ve exhausted all other options, in order to protect taxpayers’ money.”
