A lifeguarding service provider that has gone into liquidation will be asked to pay more than $400,000 in unpaid superannuation to former employees.
Documents from the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) and liquidators show the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) will also claim an additional $1.4 million from the company.
The business, LSA Venues Central West Pty Ltd, is a sister company of Lifeguarding Services Australia Pty Ltd, and was used to pay more than 520 workers employed at pools in Queensland and New South Wales.
Liquidators Jirsch Sutherland said it appeared a “significant number” of employees were owed superannuation.
