Man charged in Waterbury shooting over gambling debt

WATERBURY A shooting victim became a shooting suspect after police tied him to an attack outside of a Grove Street liquor store that left a man gunshot.

George Nelson, who authorities suspect is a member of the Bloods street gang, was charged Wednesday with shooting 30-year-old Henry Key in a parking lot across the street from JJ Liquors in February. Nelson is suspected of firing two shots into Key’s car while standing near its front bumper.
