When Bonza took to the skies last year it was a dream come true for Nicole Toomey, who got her first-ever job in aviation as a part of the airline’s cabin crew.
Then, when Bonza went into liquidation, the 53-year-old mum and grandmother was sure her aviation dreams had ended.
“I was sold out for Bonza,” she said.
“I was going to work there for the rest of my working life so I loved what they were doing and everything that they were about.”
“It was really sad to see them go down and see Australia lose that airline.”
But now she is getting a second chance as a part of a group of 50 former Bonza employees who’ve been thrown a lifeline by Virgin Australia.
