Mackenzies, on Wood Street, is a well-loved establishment in Swindon’s Old Town, having been serving food and coffee since 1990.
In February 2026, the bar, owned by Gael Mackenzie, closed its doors as a sign stated it was “closed for refurbishment” and scaffolding was put up.
Speaking to the Swindon Advertiser, Mr Mackenzie confirmed that there would be several changes made as part of the refurb, and he hoped to reopen the site at the end of February.
