Breakthroughs in AI several years ago led not only to a whole revolution in how companies operate and who (or rather what) they make work for them, but also to a recent memory shortage: some RAM options cost more than modern GPUs due to manufacturers prioritizing AI ventures.
And this is only the beginning, according to Pua Khein-Seng, the CEO of memory-focused company Phison, who reportedly said that many electronics vendors will “go bankrupt or exit product lines due to a lack of memory” by the end of 2026.
