The solar company Meyer Burger has filed for insolvency proceedings to be opened for its two German subsidiaries. The company now intends to continue its efforts to preserve the sites with an insolvency administrator.
Meyer Burger announced the move in a press release on Saturday. On the one hand, it concerns the solar cell production in Thalheim near Bitterfeld-Wolfen in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt. Meyer Burger says it employs 331 people there.
