The company behind the REDcycle plastic waste scheme has been declared insolvent, leaving supermarket giants Coles and Woolworths with mountains of plastic waste to deal with.
The Australian Council of Recycling says the REDcycle failure is just the tip of the iceberg and that a whole of system approach is needed.
