The beneficiaries include law firm McCann Fitzgerald, financial services firm Grant Thornton and the liquidator Damien Harper.
The wind-up of Quinn Insurance, which was once owned by ex-billionaire businessman Seán Quinn, was ordered by the High Court in 2023. It had been placed into administration by the government in 2010 at a cost of €1bn to the State.
Once that process was completed, the administrators asked the High Court to wind up the firm. Mr Harper, who owns PUC Consultants, was appointed liquidator by the court. Since then, his business has been paid a total of €160,000 in fees.
