Reckitt Benckiser is separating its health and hygiene home divisions after the consumer goods giant cut forecasts for a second time and warned it would not grow sales this year for the first time since 1999.
The company, which has reliably churned out sales growth for the past 17 years, said it was already taking steps to help boost performance. Chief executive Rakesh Kapoor will now take responsibility for the group’s health division, which includes the Durex and Nurofen brands, while the home hygiene division, which makes Dettol and Cillit Bang, will be run by Rob de Groot who currently heads up Reckitt’s European and Russian businesses.
