Vasyl Pankovych, 43, of Oakdale Drive, Heald Green, operated VP Building Limited, which was based in Clayton-le-Dale, and has since gone into liquidation.
In November 2020, Pankovych breached the conditions of the Covid 19 Bounce Back Loan scheme by applying for a second sum of taxpayers’ money that the company was not eligible for.
The company had already received a BBL of £50,000 on May 12, and as a result caused the business to obtain £100,000, twice the maximum available under the scheme.
An Insolvency Service report said: “Under the BBL scheme, businesses were able to apply for up to 25 per cent of their turnover to a maximum of £50,000.
