The Rochfort Distillery in Hindmarsh Valley has been placed into liquidation, faced with potentially more than $500,000 of debts. The award-winning distillery and 200 seat restaurant opened in 2018 just outside of Victor Harbor, at the site of the former Victor Harbor Winery. It may now be forced into selling off its stock of whisky, with some bottles valued at more than $2000. An auction had been scheduled for July by auctioneers Mason Gray Strange under instructions “from the landlord pursuant to a distraint for rent,” but has since been cancelled following a court injunction.
