Cask Spirits Global has been closed after it was found that customers paid nearly £100,000 (US$136,000) for casks of whisky they never owned.
The fraudulent whisky investment company was officially wound up at the High Court in London on Tuesday 25 August following an inquiry by the Insolvency Service.
Investigations into 17 customers who paid the firm a combined total of £97,249 for cask investments revealed that only four held valid documents of ownership.
