A Taranaki support worker with a gambling habit fleeced her client of nearly $6000, making 18 withdrawals from the victims bank account.
Over a fortnight in March 2019, Frances Marion Pickering used the victims card to withdraw cash at several ATMs throughout New Plymouth.
Pickering, 63, made eight withdrawals of $200 and 10 of $400, totalling $5600.
In an interview with police, she admitted to taking the money to fund her gambling habit, a summary of facts stated.
