Homeplus, which is currently under court receivership, has temporarily suspended operations at 37 stores from May 10 in an effort to minimize sales declines amid a liquidity crisis. In response, the Joint Countermeasure Committee—comprising workers, tenant companies, and online delivery representatives—has protested, claiming that this is part of a “planned liquidation scenario” orchestrated by the major shareholder, MBK Partners.
