J.K., who agreed to be interviewed for this story if identified only by her initials, is one of several regular members at Harbor Hall Treatment Services gamblers group under the direction of counselor Paula Musilek. It wasnt always that way, but by the end it consumed her thoughts and actions.
It started when she began going to casinos when they opened across the state, as she said, in the late 1980s, or about 25 years ago.
