A fashion retailer best known for its iconic hat range has collapsed into liquidation after 253 years of trading. Oxfordshire-based Christy & Co, which founded the iconic Christys hat brand in 1773, officially entered voluntary liquidation following a general meeting on February 12. Shareholders agreed the company should be “wound up voluntarily” and appointed Yiannis Koumettou and Amie Helen Johnson, of BTG Begbies Traynor Central LLP, as joint liquidators, according to the Gazette.
