An independent car dealer has fallen into liquidation in another blow for the UK car industry, with jobs likely at risk. According to The Gazette, car dealer The Essex Car Group appointed liquidators on March 4, 2026.
The dealership, located on Dunmow Rd, Leaden Roding, Dunmow, was incorporated back in June 2017. However, the company is now listed as permanently closed online with their website even taken down as of Wednesday morning.
On Companies House, the business’s current status is said to be in “liquidation”, with the commencement of winding-up orders starting at the end of February. At this stage, it is unknown exactly how many jobs could be at risk from the closing of the site.
