Wild Child, the manufacturer of the base formula used by 20 sunscreens pulled from sale for failing to meet sun protection factor claims, is being sued for “misleading” and “deceptive” conduct.
High-profile brand Ultra Violette is seeking millions of dollars from Wild Child Laboratories – which filed for liquidation in August – following the recall of one of its signature SPF50+ sunscreens, Lean Screen, last year in the wake of testing by consumer group Choice showing an SPF of just 4.
Ultra Violette said it was “deeply sorry” for the “inconsistency in testing” and pulled its Lean Screen from shelves.
The brand is now seeking $7m from Wild Child Laboratories, filing a lawsuit for “misleading” and “deceptive”…
