One of Australia’s largest wide format printers, Melbourne-based Billboard Media, has been placed into voluntary administration.

Richard Albarran and John Vouris from Hall Chadwick were appointed as joint administrators on Monday 8 December.

In a notice posted by the Australian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC), Jordan Developments Pty Ltd as trustee for Shreeve Family Trust No.4 (trading name Billboard Media) has been placed into voluntary administration.

The first meeting of creditors will be held at the Hall Chadwick premises in Sydney on 18 December at 10.00am.

[SINGAPORE] Former Cathay Cineplexes operator mm2 Asia has been given a lifeline after the High Court on Dec 10 allowed the company to be shielded from creditors and legal proceedings for four months while it works out a restructuring plan.

The move will allow the company time and breathing space to work out a plan to repay its creditors, said Judicial Commissioner Mohamed Faizal in a written judgment after a hearing.

On Nov 10, mm2 said in a bourse filing that it had applied to the High Court for a moratorium under the Insolvency, Restructuring and Dissolution Act to stop current, pending or threatened proceedings from being commenced…

The Supreme Court has reiterated that the proceedings under the IBC cannot be defeated by a corporate debtor by raising a moonshine defence only to delay the process. The Apex Court further affirmed that the adjudicating authority must advert to the contentions put forth on the application filed under Section 7 of the IBC and examine the material placed before it by the financial creditor.
