Record subscription company Vinyl Me, Please has been accused of going cold on its customers as it enters liquidation, per The Denver Post.

The Denver-based company – which offered a pay-monthly subscription service where members could receive “exclusive records” – reportedly emailed customers to inform them that they entered liquidation last month.

A Reddit user shared what they claimed to be an update from the company earlier this week, reading: “As a customer of Vinyl Me, Please, we wanted to let you know that on April 4, 2025, the Company commenced an Assignment for the Benefit of Creditors (ABC).”

The idea of wiping the financial slate clean through bankruptcy can seem like an ideal solution for those who are struggling to keep up with their debt payments in today’s high-rate inflationary landscape. After all, with average credit card rates still hovering around historic highs and the cost of living continuing to stretch household budgets, it’s getting harder and harder for those…

Hudson’s Bay Co. is seeking court approval to repay millions owed to its senior lenders, as the retailer’s liquidation sales continue to clear out its stores across the country.

The company plans to repay up to approximately $165-million outstanding under two credit facilities, according to court documents filed on Wednesday.

Faltering under $1.1-billion in debt and mounting losses, Hudson’s Bay was granted court protection from its creditors on Mar. 7 under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act.

In late March, the company began clearance sales at 74 Hudson’s Bay stores, as well as two Saks Fifth Avenue and 13 Saks Off Fifth…

The Leeds-based practice, formerly known as 2B Architecture, designed major housing schemes for developers such as Igloo Regeneration, Citylife and Citu – as well as a plan for Yorkshire’s tallest building and an 8,000 seat arena in Edinburgh.

But the company, whose accounts show it employed up to nine people in 2020, stopped trading on 23 April with total debts of £334,000, according to a statement of affairs published by liquidator David Robson of Gaines Robson Insolvency.

The document reveals that the practice had £43,000 in cash when it stopped trading, but £222,000 owed to it is not expected to be recovered, meaning there is a £291,000 shortfall in cash owed to creditors.

Labor’s federal election win means university fees and costs are set to change. But some of these changes will not be immediate.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has already said planned cuts to student debt will be a top priority for the the new parliament. A new student debt repayment system will follow soon after.

But humanities students paying nearly A$17,000 a year for their studies – thanks to the Job-ready Graduates scheme introduced by the Morrison government – will probably have to wait until 2027 for lower fees.

Reduction in student debt

People with student debt will benefit from a 20% cut to how much they owe. As the Greens support wiping student debt entirely, Labor is likely to only need one or two other senators to…

Government-appointed commissioners are to intervene in running a Surrey council with debts of more than £1 billion.

Jim McMahon, Minister of State at the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, said the government had appointed officials to oversee Spelthorne Borough Council.

The interventions come after government inspectors expressed concerns over its record of implementing recommendations from external auditors and from the Local Government Association.

Council leader Joanne Sexton said the council was “determined to address the challenges facing the authority” and would work “collaboratively with the commissioners to ensure long-term improvement in the areas highlighted”.
