Jakarta (ANTARA) – President Prabowo Subianto stated that the government will cancel Smallholder Business Credit (KUR) debts for Aceh farmers affected by floods and landslides.
“As for KUR debts, since this is a natural disaster, we will cancel them,” Prabowo said during a press statement while inspecting the Teupin Mane bailey bridge in Bireuen, Aceh, on Sunday.
The President explained that the debt cancellation is due to the disaster being a force majeure event, so farmers need not worry about repaying their loans.

Following shareholder approval last week for the sale of PRS Holdco to Waypoint, the board of PRS REIT plc, the Manchester-based private rented sector housing group, has issued a circular ahead of a 5 January 2026 shareholder vote on its proposed liquidation.
The portfolio sale is due to complete on 11 December 2025, implying an estimated distribution close to the 114.9p NAV per share.
Shareholders wishing to vote must submit proxies by 31 December.
If the 75% approval threshold is met, liquidators will be appointed and a first payment will follow about five business days later, with around 1% of NAV retained. The final distribution, after costs of roughly £590k, is expected in March 2026.
In January 2025, Nippon published findings from the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) revealing that Japan welcomed about 37 million international visitors in 2024, the highest it had ever received, even before the pandemic. While it’s still behind tourism giants like France and Spain, those are high numbers, and demand often affects hotel prices, plane tickets, and of course, how long the queues in major city hotspots are.
Japan may not be as pricey as Singapore or Scandinavian countries, but it’s far less affordable than other East Asian destinations. So, if you’re on a tight vacation budget and worry about getting into debt on your travels, your precious dollars could stretch further in a similar East Asian location, like…

Gurugram | The Directorate of Enforcement (ED), Gurugram Zonal Office, has conducted extensive search operations on December 3 and 4, 2025, across Gurugram and Faridabad, targeting Richa Industries Limited (RIL), its promoters Sandeep Gupta, Manish Gupta, Sushil Gupta, and their associated group entities.

When Kristin Collier applied for a credit card at age 22, she said, she was surprised to learn that her application was denied. That’s when she discovered that there was over $200,000 in debt under her name that she didn’t know anything about — including several student loans and credit card balances.
Soon, she learned something else even more troubling: Her mother, who was grappling with a gambling addiction, had taken out nearly all of the loans without her consent. CNBC reviewed legal documents in which Collier’s mother admitted to borrowing the money using her daughter’s name.
In Collier’s new book, “What Debt Demands: Family, Betrayal, and Precarity in a Broken System,” she tells the story of…
