The types of services include financial, medical and housing.
The Department of Home Affairs provides these services through various organisations. Financial help is given through Services Australia (Centrelink).

A first liquidator’s report into a Kiwi travel company’s breakdown reportedly shows it was issuing customers with fake plane tickets.
Auckland-based travel company Travel Globe has left creditors more than NZ$230,000 ($221,637) out of pocket, according to a liquidator’s report, including customers who were issued with fake plane tickets.
The company is owned and directed by former bankrupt Jujhar Singh and his wife Harvinder Kaur, who served as director and shareholder until late December, Stuff reported.

The failure rate of new businesses relative to total insolvencies is at its lowest level for more than a decade, according to new analysis from PwC. In 2024 startups accounted for 46% of total company insolvencies, the lowest proportion in a decade by a large margin – despite record levels of company incorporations over the period.
The average proportional percentage of startup insolvencies over the past decade was 60%, and 2024 marks the first year the rate has fallen below 50%.

Insolvency-related activity has decreased in Wiltshire and the Thames Valley, says R3, the UK’s insolvency and restructuring trade body.
R3’s analysis of data provided by Creditsafe showed a drop in insolvency-related activities from 203 in December to 172 in January.
The figures include administrator and liquidator appointments together with creditors’ meetings.
This number is significantly lower than October 2024’s 293, which was the highest figure since March 2022.

A Chinese government linked property company with unpaid claims from Queenstown contractors has gone into liquidation, leaving the future of over 100 Fernhill residential units in doubt.
Triple Connection Ltd was put into liquidation on February 13 after landscaping company Top Garden failed to get a response to a statutory demand linked to an unpaid $80,000 invoice and even higher legal costs. Queenstown company Concept Builders was also owed money by Triple Connection.
The company is involved in the troubled Jade Lake project that was launched with great fanfare back in 2018.
