TOTAL CONSTRUCTION insolvencies in 2024 were down 6.3% on the previous year, according to the latest data from the Insolvency Service.

Construction firms accounted for 15% of all insolvencies in England and Wales in November 2024, with 316 registered construction businesses becoming insolvent.

By rough comparison, construction firms accounted for 14% of all registered businesses in the UK in 2024.

In the year to November 2024, the total number of construction firms becoming insolvent was 4,102. This was a 6.3% decrease on the 4,380 insolvencies recorded in the year to November 2023, and a 27.5% increase on the 3,217 in pre-pandemic 2019.

Fenn Foods, a Sunshine Coast-based alternative meat company with products stocked in major retailers such as Woolworths (ASX: WOW) and Coles (ASX: COL), has been given a second shot at success after being acquired by rival Smart Foods almost two weeks after entering liquidation.

EEK Graphics, a print management company registered in Formby, Liverpool, has officially appointed liquidators and will be wound up voluntarily.

Richard Hunt from SFP Restructuring based in London, has been appointed liquidator of the company for the purpose of the winding up. 

EEK Graphics listed itself as provider a range of print services including printed stationary, business cards, labels, posters, as well as neon signage.

The company’s social media hasn’t updated since 2019 and the website appears to now be offline.

According to The Gazette, a general meeting took place and was duly convened on January 13th, 2025, in which it was decided to liquidate the company and appoint Hunt from SPF as liquidator.

The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), New Delhi bench of Justice Mahendra Khandelwal (Judicial Member) and Dr. Sanjeev Ranjan (Technical Member) has ordered the liquidation of Go First Airlines, marking the conclusion of a 20-month-long insolvency process after no viable resolution plan emerged. The tribunal upheld the decision by the Committee of Creditors to liquidate Go Airlines, which approved the liquidation with a 100% vote.

The Tribunal stated the CoC in the legislative scheme is empowered to make the decision to liquidate the corporate debtor, at any time after its constitution and before confirmation of the resolution plan.

Police said Williams had been selling solar PV products to customers at reduced prices before creating false invoices to direct payments into his own bank account and updating the company’s systems to say customers had cancelled their orders.

He kept empty boxes in the warehouse to hide missing stock, but when managers became suspicious, he confessed.

As a result of him selling stock at reduced prices, the court heard Williams made about £150,000 from the two-year fraud.

The UK arm of the business was closed as a result, leading to five job losses.

While the custodial sentence was suspended, Williams must carry out 200 hours of unpaid work and complete an alcohol treatment requirement for nine months.

The bankruptcy court in Mumbai approves IHL Lifesciences Pvt Ltd‘s acquisition of the listed firm Parental Drugs India Ltd. Before the tribunal’s approval, the Company’s Committee of Creditors (CoC) had approved IHL Lifesciences’ resolution plan for Parental Drugs India with 100% of the vote.
