Data breaches and ransomware attacks in the US are increasing companies’ risk of financial losses, in many cases dragging them into bankruptcy or putting them out of business altogether.

Data breaches cost companies across the world on average about $4.9 million, and nearly double that amount in the US, according to a 2024 study by IBM. The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) ordered the liquidation of Go First Airways after a request from the airline’s Committee of Creditors (CoC), Bar and bench reported on Monday.

The NCLT bench, consisting of Judicial Member Mahendra Khandelwal and Technical Member Dr. Sanjeev Ranjan, confirmed the decision, saying, “Liquidation is ordered.”

Go First filed a voluntary plea for admission to the Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP) under Section 10 of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC) on May 2, 2023. The NCLT admitted the plea on May 10, appointing a Resolution Professional (RP) to manage the airline’s operations. (The Center Square) − Louisiana’s gambling industry wrapped up December with mixed performance across its various gaming sectors, according to the latest data from the Louisiana State Police.

Video gaming devices generated $63.7 million in net device revenue in December, up 1.5% from the same month last year. Truck stops, the largest contributors to video gaming device revenue, brought in $47.1 million, a 1.4% year-over-year increase.
