My parents divorced when I was very young due to my father being a physically and emotionally abusive alcoholic and drug addict.
Although my brother and I spent sporadic weekends with him when we were in elementary school, I stopped visiting him during my middle-school years, and cut off all contact when I turned 18.
Hes getting older now and Ive kept tabs on him through mutual friends and family. I know hes been unemployed for 20 years and would be homeless if it wasnt for his girlfriend, whom he lives with, although it sounds like she recently kicked him out.
He still drinks and smokes heavily and from what I understand, and he abuses other drugs as well. I think he has outstanding gambling debts as well as debt for bail bondsmen, parki…

The High Court has approved a personal insolvency arrangement (PIA) that will allow a 52-year-old man write off approximately 1.38 million in debt owed to a financial fund.
Under the terms of the arrangement, Alan Jenkins, who had debts of approximately 2.5 million, will see that sum reduced to zero after he agreed to surrender 10 properties he owns to his secured creditor Havbell DAC.
The properties are located mainly in various towns in the midlands, and in Dublin. The 10 properties will be sold off, with the proceeds going towards reducing his debt to the financial fund.
It is estimated that the sale of the properties, along with other terms of the PIA, will reduce the amount owed by Mr Jenkins by approximately 1.2 million.

The company blamed ongoing negative media reports for dampening investor confidence, resulting in a further decline in sales in September usually a strong month for sales in China.
Evergrande also said two of its subsidiaries had failed…
