A man was arrested for allegedly robbing 7-Eleven stores in Bangkok because he needed to pay off the debts from the money he had lost from gambling. He apparently painted his face to hide his identity and used a pocket knife to threaten the cashiers.

The 30 year old man, identified as Sugipri, allegedly robbed two of the 7-Eleven convenience stores in by the Laem Thong village intersection. CCTV camera footage shows the man fleeing the scene on a motorbike. The motorbike was later found parked in the middle of a soi in the On Nut area. When Sugipiri arrived to claim ownership of his motorbike, he was arrested. Police say he was in possession of the items he had stolen along with a folding knife.

Hagit Fieldman, 54, and Gary Fieldman, 58, both now living in Israel, were directors of First For Windows Ltd. The company traded as Dalmatian Windows and provided the manufacture and installation of double glazing, doors and conservatories.

The company was incorporated in 2005 with its main trading address in East Kilbride, and the company traded without issue for a number of years.

In 2017, however, the directors were unable to meet their tax obligations and a petition to wind up the company was presented by the tax authorities in June 2019.

Following an Insolvency Service investigation, it was found that 2.4 million had been spent from the company bank accounts.

Venugopal Dhoot, former promoter of Videocon Group, has moved before the NCLAT, challenging an order of the insolvency court NCLT approving Rs 2,962 crore takeover bid by Anil Agarwal’s Twin Star Technologies for 13 companies of the debt-ridden group.

Dhoot, in his petition filed before the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) has requested to set aside the order passed by the Mumbai bench of the NCLT and to direct the lenders to consider Rs 31,789 crore settlement plan submitted by him under section 12 of the Insolvency & Bankruptcy Code (IBC).

The NHL said it will investigate an allegation made by Evander Kane’s wife that the San Jose Sharks forward bet on his own games and has intentionally tried to lose for gambling profit.

The league said Saturday night on Twitter that it was made aware of the social media posts by Anna Kane and plans to conduct a full investigation. SINGAPORE – Keppel Corp is proposing to acquire Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) through a privatisation offer after thehiving off of SPH’s media business.

The offer, which values SPH at $3.4 billion, will see SPH delisted and become a wholly owned subsidiary of Keppel, the companies jointly announced on Monday (Aug 2). Keppels share of the deal is about $2.2 billion.

Under the offer, SPH shareholders will receive 66.8 cents in cash per share, as well as 0.596 Keppel Reit units and 0.782 SPH Reit units per share.
