A woman who inaccurately responded to questions about debt in her online application for car insurance has lost a claim dispute with Hollard.
The woman, who was subject to a part 9 debt agreement under the Bankruptcy Act, says she made an honest mistake and sought that Hollard pay her car accident claim and that her insurance records be expunged.
The Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) denied both requests on the basis she had not accurately disclosed her financial status and Hollard would have declined to offer her cover at the outset had she answered accurately.

LONDON – The Australian parent of failed specialist finance firm Greensill Capital, whose recent collapse sparked worldwide corporate fallout, job loss fears and a major UK political scandal, has entered liquidation, administrators said Thursday.

Florida-based American Capital Assurance Corp. is officially in receivership and is in the process of being liquidated after being deemed insolvent by Floridas insurance regulator earlier this month.
The Florida Department of Financial Services, which serves as the receiver for any insurer placed into receivership in Florida, said it was granted a consent order for purposes of liquidation, injunction and notice of automatic stay of AmCap on April 14 by the Second Judicial Court in Leon County, Florida.

North East business owners are being warned of the dangers of trying to do too much too quickly as the economy begins to open up.
Alexandra Withers, North East chair of insolvency and restructuring trade body R3, was speaking after the latest corporate insolvency figures for England and Wales revealed a 45% month-on-month rise, from 685 cases in February this year to 992 last month.
