Missing payments toward the new debt means that you could end up in a worse position than when you started.
Do you think they didnt consult me or consult other sponsors long before this became a public stitch-up of the club and the CEO? The board was across all of this. I think they met twice and it was discussed with them. So Ryan isnt some kind of cowboy.
But here is where I have an issue: I think the club was poorly treated and positioned by the NRL. They gave the club the rope and then they quietly hung us. There was never a firm no from the NRL … instead they allowed us to explore it and led us down the garden path.
They allowed the club to look rash and stupid, and the reason they didnt cut it off straight away is because the NRL knows they would have had to face a court case. They knew there was a restraint of trade or something sim…

The Federal Government is trying work out why less than a quarter of the $300 million it released in the wake of the north Queensland floods was taken up by farmers, two years after the disaster.
Key points:
- The Federal Government is trying to work out why less than a quarter of the money released after the 2019 floods has been taken by graziers
- Professor Bruce Chapman says governments should rethink offering farmers more debt
- The Cloncurry Shire mayor says little rain after the floods is the main reason why producers are not taking up the grants
Only $66 million has been claimed by north Queensland farmers.
In the months after the floods, $400,000 grants were offered to primary producers, who needed to match the funding with their own money….

SUDBURY — A judge has formally declared Laurentian University insolvent, giving the university breathing room as it works toward restructuring by April 30.
The ruling released Thursday by G.B. Morawetz, chief justice of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, allows the university to access $25 million in funding to cover salary and other costs as it restructures.
Laurentian will also be able to cut programs and lay off staff, as long as that process doesn’t affect courses students are currently taking.
The school can “permanently or temporarily cease, downsize or shut down any of its business or operations,” Morawetz ruled, adding that LU “shall not cease, downsize or shut down any parts of its business if such action would cause any …

You could fall behind on payments
For example, if you fail to pay off your balance transfer card within the zero-interest promotional period, youll be stuck paying it at a higher APR potentially higher than the original debt.
If you fall behind on a consolidation loan, you could rack up late fees, and the missed payments would be reported to the credit bureaus, jeopardizing your credit scores.
Before consolidating, make sure the new monthly payment fits comfortably in your budget for the entirety of the repayment period.
You havent addressed the root problem
Though consolidation is a helpful tool, it isn’t a sure …

There is plenty in the news about an upcoming wave (some still say avalanche) of insolvencies, especially once the federal government financial support mechanisms finish at the end of March.
And while initiatives such as the small business restructuring reforms were introduced to help COVID-19 impacted SME businesses and have now come into effect theyre not as simple as the politicians would have us believe.
The Corporations (Corporate Insolvency Reforms) Act 2020 and the Corporations Amendment (Corporate Insolvency Reforms) Regulations 2020 were incorporated to, in part, introduce the Small Business Restructuring Process and the Simplified Liquidation Process. These reforms are intended to give financially challenged SMEs with debts …

Melbourne, Australia The image is striking.
Draped in a possum-skin cloak Senator Lidia Thorpe entered her first day in the Australian Federal parliament last September with her right fist raised in a Black Power salute.
In her left hand, she carried a stick engraved with 441 stripes representing the number of Indigenous people to die in custody since a landmark Royal Commission in 1991.
Thorpe tells Al Jazeera she raised her fist as a sign of resistance and as a sign of our struggle and in solidarity with Black people across the world.
She also described the responsibility as carrying the voice of my people into a place which denied our rights for so long and confirmed her intent: Im not saying anything different to what the people on…
