THE LIQUIDATOR of a Rockhampton company has filed a $250,000 lawsuit against the Australian Tax Officer, claiming the tax office received payments during a period the company was insolvent.
Digital Fox Pty Ltd, which has also operated at CQ Digital Solutions, had a business on Denison St in Rockhampton from 2016.
The company went into liquidation in October 2019 with Worrells Solvency and Forensic Accountants appointed as liquidators.
It was declared in December the company was to be wound up.
Liquidator Morgan Lane filed the lawsuit to the Rockhampton District Court in November against the Commissioner of Taxation.

The Estonian Government has signed a new directive to help combat and alleviate problem gambling among the countrys population.
Government to Aid in Recovery
Estonian Minister of Social Affairs Tanel Kiik has signed a directive that will secure 200,000 to MT Gambling Addiction Counseling Center a non-government organization that aims to monitor problem gambling and provide a center to help addicts and their families deal with the problems stemming from the addiction.
The strategic partnership application was launched this October and extends the governments ability to cooperate with and empower problem-gambling-orientated NGOs in their development, growth and maintenance.

The guide was launched by IFA National Farm Business Committee chair Rose Mary McDonagh and Martin Stapleton, chairman of the IFA Debt Support Service.
The IFA Debt Support Service was established following the last recession to provide specific support to farmers in arrears, according to the farm organisation.
This confidential service is comprised of an experienced team of IFA volunteers working with professional support to provide assistance to IFA members in financial difficulty.

The social affairs ministry says the issue of gambling among minors is of particular concern.
Kathlin Mikiver, chief specialist at the Ministry of Social Affairs’ public health department, said: “In order to get rid of gambling addiction, it is important to offer individuals who acknowledge their problems, and their relatives, comprehensive help and support via complex services.”
Mikiver noted the problem of racking up debts in order to fuel gaming habits, multiplying the problem and requiring debt counseling.
Exposure to gambling by parents also causes minors to be more likely to develop gambling addictions of their own, either then or in later life, she added.
