Travelex, the airport foreign currency specialist, said it will complete its debt restructuring later today but more than 1,300 jobs will be lost in the process.
The transaction will see a new Travelex group established with debts reduced to 160mln from 385mln.
A further 84 million of new liquidity will be in ejected into the new Travelex Group to build on its current, market position and brand, said the statement.
However, some parts of the UK business including the airport-based outlets are to be closed.

A home loans company that previously operated in Townsville is being liquidated with creditors expected to be paid in full.
Platinum Business Services Pty Ltd, trading as Townsville Home Loans, was placed in liquidation in May through a creditor’s voluntary winding up application.
Liquidators in the central Queensland division of Worrells Solvency & Forensic Accountants in Rockhampton are handling the matter.
Worrells central Queensland partner Michael Beck said the liquidation had been initiated by the bankruptcy trustee of the company’s director, Patrick Edward Leach.
Mr Beck said the business, which had operated from offices in Flinders St, had not traded for some time with its most recent loan written in 2017.

Crown prosecutor Raelene Sharp opposed bail, arguing the possible risk of flight and interference with witnesses.
She told the court Mr Alex, a declared bankrupt, has allegedly run businesses using a wide network of people to operate companies “on his behalf … from a paper perspective.”
His access to such networks pointed to “means and ability to effect an escape if on bail.”
