A European tour company has declared bankruptcy amid the fallout from Play airline’s shutdown.

Last month, budget airline Play cancelled all flights as it ceased operation with immediate effect. 

The Icelandic airline said it had gone into administration, leaving hundreds of people without jobs and potentially thousands stranded. 

The consequences have been felt by travellers across Europe.

German airline Condor offered rescue fares to some passengers, and other travel companies offered booking changes to those affected.

SINGAPORE – Employees of an art investment firm which closed suddenly may never see their owed salaries, but lawyers urged them to file salary claims and prioritise their job hunt.

Art Works, which ran an art investment advisory and a gallery at One Holland Village, went into voluntary liquidation on Oct 30, leaving behind questions over unpaid staff wages, artists’ fees, and client-owned art pieces still left in its care.

One of Art Work’s 15 employees told The Straits Times that two of the three company directors – all foreign nationals – have left Singapore and changed their phone numbers. ST’s calls and texts to a number linked to one of them went unanswered.

Maputo, 5 Nov (AIM) – The Mozambican government has approved the Medium-Term Debt Management Strategy for 2025-2029, a document aimed at “defining a prudent framework for public debt management.”

According to a statement issued by the Council of Ministers (cabinet) on Tuesday, the strategy is also aimed at meeting the State’s financing needs, balancing costs and risks, in order to ensure the credibility of economic policy and debt sustainability in the medium and long term.

The strategy emerges at a time when public debt, particularly domestic debt, is continuing to grow every month, to make up for the shortfall in tax collection on the one hand, and the decline of foreign aid on the other.

After winning The Apprentice in 2022, Ms Kaur secured a £250,000 loan from Lord Sugar to invest in the business. However, in 2024 she made the “difficult but exciting” decision to leave Oh So Yum for new projects.

After more than a decade in operation, Scottish independent whisky bottler Chapter 7 has gone into liquidation due to cashflow pressures and a downturn in sales.

Chapter 7’s Monologue whisky range

Kevin Mapstone and Kenneth Craig of insolvency specialist Begbies Traynor were appointed joint liquidators of Paisley-based Chapter 7 on 2 October 2025.

Founded by Selim Evin in 2014, Chapter 7 produced more than 50 specialist small-batch whiskies.

In August 2022, Chapter 7 opened a bottling facility in Glasgow, bringing production fully in-house after previously using a third-party supplier.
