Fashion retailer Cue is set to become the first major bricks and mortar retailer in the country to offer free three-hour delivery throughout Australia, as more and more retailers are forced to invest in innovative logistics solutions to compete with online shopping giants.

The move by Cue comes on the back of a better than expected Christmas and New Year shopping period for many retailers, which felt minimal impact from the launch of US online giant Amazon.

Cue chief information officer Shane Lenton said the women’s wear brand had a good back end to the holiday season and trading was consistent with previous years’ performances, despite not “breaking any records”.

The retailer, which also owns the Veronika Maine brand, will …

Shares in Altice NV rose sharply on Tuesday morning following an announcement late on Monday of a wide-ranging organisational shake-up and restructuring of the struggling global telecoms group.

Altices shares have almost halved in the past three months over investor concerns about its 51bn mountain of debt and uncertainty around whether founder Patrick Drahi can deliver on a business model built on borrowing heavily to acquire new businesses, aggressively slashing costs and then delivering a…

Introduction

In yet another landmark judgment for the bankruptcy regime in India, the Bombay High Court has ruled that an Application under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 (IBC) may be made even in cases where a Winding-Up petition has been admitted by a Company Court. Such an Application under the IBC, would not be permitted, only in the event that a final order of Winding-Up is passed under Section 481 of the Companies Act, 1956.

The corporate debtor in this case, PSL Limited (PSL), filed an application with the Bombay High Court, seeking the recall of an earlier order passed on 19 July, 2017, which prohibited the NCLT, Ahmedabad Bench, from proceeding with an insolvency appli…
