The impact of the REX voluntary administration on the Far South Coast is starting to become clearer.

The airline has been sold to American freight and maintenance firm Air T.

We can reveal that around $200,000 in airport fees is still outstanding to our two local councils.

Bega Valley Shire Council has confirmed to me REX still owes them $144,000 for use of Merimbula Airport from before they went to administration in July last year.

The figure is $55,000 to Eurobodalla Shire Council for Moruya Airport.

The support would allow the Council to borrow money to balance its books. It also allowed the Authority use money from the sale of assets to fund day to day services like social care and bin collections.
