The Australian Taxation Office will try to force beleaguered publican Jon Adgemis into bankruptcy by the end of the week after succeeding in a bid to replace businessman Richard Gazal as the plaintiff in a lawsuit against him.
In a Federal Court room on Monday, Justice Elizabeth Raper allowed the deputy commissioner of the ATO to substitute for Gazal in his attempt to bankrupt Adgemis, because the ATO’s debts of more than $154 million were bigger than Gazal’s and existed at the time he started his lawsuit last November.

As other energy majors reduce renewables spending, Total has bucked the trend by continuing to build wind and solar projects, then selling minority stakes to raise cash that it invests in natural gas assets to grow its portfolio as global demand rises.

It will take farmers more than a year to recover from this year’s bad situation, but each farmer’s situation will vary depending on the farm’s investments.
No significant increase in potato prices is expected in the shops as Europe had a good potato harvest this year.
