AN Inverclyde church is offering free debt advice for local people after partnering with the award-winning national debt counselling charity, Christians Against Poverty.
The Debt Centre will act as an extension to the i58 Project, which is the social action ministry of Greenock Elim Church. The i58 project is best known for founding and operating Inverclyde Foodbank and has now joined forces with Christians Against Poverty (CAP).
Inverclyde CAP Debt Centre manager Alistair McAlees said: Typically, debts can build up when a relationship breaks down, someone loses their job or through bereavement – often when people are least able to cope with a financial headache.
